About Me

LARRY O’DONNELL is a local Tasmanian artist with an ongoing desire to use unique and different materials in her mixed-media pieces of art, predominantly works of portraiture. Progressing through artworks using sequins on expanded-aluminium mesh, Larry turned to lead-lighting and painted glass for her portraiture and decorative works. This led to the use of acrylic paint on ceramic tile and white leather. Larry’s now enthralled with the combination of metallic acrylic paint and coloured pebbles and stones. Larry’s painstaking attention to detail is evident in all her pieces. Her subject matter – much of who are of indigenous peoples from Australia and beyond – are given dignity and pride, and give a sober pause for reflection.
